Brown Bear Cafe

This is our third visit here over about six years. We were there while the train was in town, so it was a bit crowded; we had a 1o-min wait.I had a grilled chicken sandwich that had a green chili grafted on. Pretty darn good, but the sammich fell apart due to the juiciness of the chicken and ranch dressing. Iced tea was pretty good. Ended up with decent peach cobbler. I'd go back again, I think it's the best place in Silverton.

Very average place to eat, food choices are standard but solid, and good if nothing to write home about. Service rates 5 stars - cheerful and very helpful; they'll happily fill up your water bottle for you which is great for those long train or bus rides. Also one of the few places in town that seems to have reliable hours ... came in on the train on an October Monday along with a ton of other people and was hard pressed to find somewhere open to take advantage of a trainload of people wanting lunch. Very surprising and disappointing ... None of the other restaurants topping 4 stars in Google bothered to be open (even the "train station" shops were all closed up!), and Eureka doesn't open until 4?!? Sad. Seems they can all miss out on making money. Kudos to Brown Bear Cafe for helping hungry people to eat! Hope they continue to do well.

The best food! Great breakfast to get before you go out exploring the surrounding area. Super nice staff.
